How do I cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are billed by Apple, so they are cancelled in iOS, not in the app: open Settings > Apple Account > Subscriptions, tap Quran Scroller, then Cancel Subscription. Cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends, otherwise the next period is charged. You keep Premium until the period you have already paid for runs out. Cancelling during a free trial ends the trial and you are not charged.

I paid already — how do I get Premium back on a new phone?

Tap Restore Purchases on the subscription screen while signed in to the same Apple Account that bought it. There is no password for us to reset, because there is no account with us: Apple holds the subscription and the app just asks Apple whether it is active. If a restore does not bring it back, check Settings > Apple Account > Subscriptions to confirm which Apple Account the subscription is on.

Can I change the English translation?

Yes. The app ships four: ClearQuran (Talal Itani), Saheeh International, Ruwwad and Pickthall. Tap the translation pill in the reader’s toolbar, or open Home > Settings > Translation, and switch mid-verse — you stay on the same ayah. Each translation shows its translator and licence in full. The Uthmani Arabic above the English never changes.

Does it work offline?

Completely. Every verse, all four translations, every study note, every reading plan and all imagery are bundled in the app when you download it. The app makes no network requests of its own, so there is nothing to sync and nothing to wait for. A plane, a tunnel or airplane mode changes nothing.

Do I have to sign in?

No. Sign in with Apple appears once during onboarding and is entirely optional — skip it and the app works identically. Nothing is locked behind it. If you do sign in, the identifier Apple gives the app stays on your device; it is not sent anywhere, because there is no server to send it to. You can revoke access at any time in Settings > Apple Account > Sign in with Apple.

How do I delete my data?

Everything the app stores — reading progress, streak, library, notes, plan progress and preferences — lives on your device. To erase your saved content while keeping the app, use the reset control in Settings inside the app. To erase all of it, delete the app. There is nothing held on a server for us to delete, and nothing for you to request: see the privacy policy.

Are the study notes written by scholars?

The Deep Study commentary is AI-assisted: drafted with AI drawing on the classical works of tafsir — Ibn Kathir, al-Tabari, al-Qurtubi and al-Sa‘di — and reviewed before it shipped. It is study material, not a fatwa and not a substitute for a qualified scholar. Where scholars differ, the app says so. The Quran text and the four translations are not AI-generated; they are licensed source texts reproduced as their licences require.

Something is wrong with a verse or a translation

Please tell us, and name the surah and ayah. The Arabic is the Tanzil Project’s Uthmani text and the translations are reproduced unmodified where their licences require it, so a fix may mean going back to the source — but we want to know either way.
